Editor Wars 10/23/22
After spending nearly a year in Vim, and switching to Emacs for six months I now realize what I truly like in a text editor - simplicity
Some part of me still feels that I should live in harmony with both, moving between the two when it feels natural, but after returning to NeoVim and spending nearly all of my time in the terminal, I truly believe that Vim seems to be the best fit for me. It enables me to use all of the power and simplicity of the terminal with zero overhead, while Emacs feels like its forcing me into a workflow that aims to keep you inside of it, not that there's nothing wrong with it, and it might work for some people, but most of the time I found it a mental burden to configure Emacs to do something instead of just hitting Ctrl-Z
out of NeoVim and simple running the necessary script or program. This video by DistroTube helps explain this concept a lot better.
